Bow River Report - May 8, 2018

The river is in good shape at the moment and the fish are fattening up after a long winter. San Juan Worms and leech patterns continue to be successful. Some reports of fish feeding in the surface - midges and a few BWO’s.

The Policeman’s Flats project was completed late last week. Watch for signage to be added to the area soon. Mackinnon’s access opened May 7.

River Clarity is good.

Flies to try:

Nymphs: San Juan Worms, small beadhead nymphs like pheasant tails, prince nymph’s; leech patterns such as the peacock leech, fruit roll up; stonefly patterns like Jimmy legs.

Dries: Griffith’s gnat, Hi-Vis Parachite Midge, parachute Adams.

Streamers: black and white cloister, flesh eating sculpin, dungeons.

Happy Fishing!
