Our 2024 exploratory trip to Patagonia convinced us to offer a hosted week with SET Fly Fishing based out of their Spring Creek Lodge. We were sold on this idea when we got to experience sight-fishing to feisty trout in December - something we can't do at home. Read the report from our exploratory Argentina trout fishing trip. 

SET offers an all-inclusive approach to fishing the region. A stay at Spring Creek Lodge doesn't mean you fish the same water each day. From their website: "The main characteristic of the area is the variety. This applies to the variety of water available in less than one hour drive from the lodge for day floats, multi day floats on longer sections, walk and wade on the smaller rivers and streams and the glacier lakes for stillwater fishing. It also applies to the amount of non-fishing activities available for those looking to take a break from fishing, and do an alternative program.

The area between Junín de los Andes and Alumine in Northern Patagonia is the most prolific dry fly fishing region in the world. The variety and abundance of fishable water would allow you to fish a different location each day for more than 100 days. Dry fly fishing is available throughout the entire season, November through May." The early season is a also a prime streamer fishing time for anglers who are looking for the big ones.

We have reserved the week of November 28-December 4 which is directly after our scheduled 2026 hosted Dorado fishing trip. 

Trout Fishing in Patagonia

• Plan to arrive Friday, November 27th into Buenos Aires which means leaving Canada on Thursday, November 26th and overnighting in Buenos Aires.
• Saturday, November 28th transfer to San Martin de Los Andes CPC airport. SET will pick us up to transfer to Spring Creek Lodge which is near Junin de los Andes about 30 minutes from the airport.
• Sunday, November 29th through Friday, December 4th - 6 days of trout fishing the lakes and rivers in one of the premier areas of Patagoni. SET also offers several program choices for non-anglers including hiking, golfing, bird watching, horse back riding, cooking classes, and more.

Trip dates: November 28 - December 4. Maximum 8 participants. (6 spots available) 

Trip cost: $6,900 USD per person double occupancy room and boat for 7 nights and 6 full days of fishing.
