My go to bobbin would have to be the Elite Compact Bobbin by Stonfo. I picked this bobbin for a couple reasons. I love the compact, shorter style of bobbin because it allows me to have a minimal distance between my hook and thread allowing for more control with the placement of the thread.
As a female tier with smaller hands I find most bobbins a little on the larger size so having a smaller bobbin I can comfortably tie, and comfortably hold, without the awkwardness of an oversized bobbin is ideal.
I am also a fan of the adjustable drag as it allows me to set it to a certain tension and it rarely budges. All in all, when I go to tie a fly I gravitate towards my Stonfo Elite Compact Bobbin .
