In October 2019 we started posting weekly Fly Tie Tuesday featured flies to our social media feeds. These posts feature an image (or two) of a finished fly and the “ingredients list” for the finished pattern.
It’s New Year’s Eve and Fly Tie Tuesday. Give yourself a goal in the new year and tie something challenging with new materials or techniques. Quigley’s Film Critic is a great fly that requires a few great materials you should add to your fly box, a para-loop or stacked hackle where the hackle is pulled over the thorax and a tall black flag that makes it easy to see. It makes for a great looking fly. This post highlights the green drake, but the technique can be applied to all sizes and colors of mayfly. Happy New Year!
