Flies and Foam Fly Tying Series at Prairie Dog Brewing

We're pumped to partner with Prairie Dog Brewing for a series of four fly tying nights between October 2025 and April 2026. These evenings will be partly instructional and entirely fun! We invite you to join us on the following dates:
Wednesday, October 29th - Bow River Basics. Calgary area anglers know the treasure that is the Bow River. We are Bow river specialists and have some favorite proven patterns. We'll tie one streamer, one nymph, and one dry at this event.
Wednesday, February 4th - 3 Favorite Nymphs for Southern Alberta. want to be productive on the water then you'll want to learn how to tie and fish these patterns.
Wednesday, March 18th - Streamer Season. We'll often refer to the water as "streamer green" (and sometimes as double double for a laugh.) We all wish for those streamer green days. This event will focus on favorite streamer patterns.
Wednesday, April 15th - Hopper (Dry) Dropper. This is a favorite fishing method on our local waters that allows us to fish two different food sources and two different water levels to quickly zone in on what's working. This event will focus on one dry and two droppers.
Tying will start at 7 p.m. but participants are welcome to arrive earlier. All ages welcome! Tyers- you will need to bring your vice, tools, thread, and glue. Non-tyers welcome too! (Non-tyers please register so we can track numbers/ensure adequate space - $10.00 per non-tyer does not include materials kit.
