Fish Tales' Flies and Foam Series is back with an all-new lineup of fly tying events hosted at Prairie Dog Brewing. Join us just one evening or attend all five of these themed tying sessions, starting October 21st, 2026 and running through to April 2027. These evenings are partly instructional and entirely fun! Tickets for each event are $25 and include a materials kit for the night's flies and a $9 credit toward Prairie Dog Brewing food or beverage. Tying will start at 7PM, but participants are welcome to arrive earlier.

- Tyers - you will need to bring your vice, tools, thread, and glue
- Non-tyers welcome too! Non-tyers please register so we can ensure adequate space
- $10.00 per non-tyer does not include materials kit
Flies and Foam 2026/2027 Series Lineup:
- Wednesday, October 21st, 2026 - Flashy Streamers with Gideon - Who doesn't like a good streamer pattern or two? This seminar will focus on a couple of proven patterns for local waters - the Kreelex Minnow and the Sparkle Yummy.
- Wednesday, November 18th, 2026 - Life Stages of Caddis - Caddis are an important bug on our local waters. During this session we'll cover three flies that represent a caddis larvae, pupa, and adult.
- Wednesday, January 6th, 2027 - Leeches for Alberta Streams - Leeches live in our local waters year-round and are considered a go-to fly for the Bow. This session features leech variations appropriate for waters throughout the province of Alberta.
- Wednesday, February 17th, 2027 - Stonefly Life Stages - Local anglers are always itching for the season of the adult stones. Early morning and late night outings can lead to some memorable surface eats. The beauty of the stonefly is it's always present in it's nymph stage in local waters. This session will feature one nymph and one dry fly pattern of these bugs.
- Wednesday, March 31st, 2027 - Terrestrials with Ray - We'll wrap up the Flies and Foam series with this session focused on a couple of Ray's favorite terrestrial patterns - a chubby chernobyl and mini hopper/ant.
