At a full-size heavy, the Rio Premier Gold Max Floating Fly Line is Rio’s most powerful all-around freshwater taper for delivering hard-to handle rigs that get bites in fisheries not centered around long leaders and tiny dry flies. With the shortest head length in the Gold class, the Max is a purpose-built full-size heavy line for smoothly loading weightier and unwieldy rigs. The short head carries more weight toward the back of the body so anglers can turn over heavier rigs much more efficiently, while the short front taper combined with tapered body allows bulky dries to still be delivered with finesse. The short back taper combined with a rear-loaded body makes for incredible roll casting of heavier rigs while also making it easier to mend at distance.
