Meet Our Team - Braydon Kennedy
Braydon joined the team in Spring of 2026. He's a keen angler and developing fly tier. He has a lot of experience in the outdoor apparel world and brings that knowledge to the Fish Tales sales floor. And if you like baseball he's the staffer to talk to. Outside of the shop he's a student at Mount Royal University where he's studying business/supply chain management and a baseball coach.

How long have you been fishing? Since I was old enough to remember.
How long have you been fly fishing? Off and on for the last 10 years but have really picked it up in the last 3 years.
How did you get started in fly fishing? I showed some interest in gear my dad had so my parents bought me a rod to give it a try.
Favorite species?
- Freshwater – Bull Trout
- Saltwater - Redfish
Favorite water? The Kinbasket watershed but everywhere in Southern Alberta has a special place in my heart.
Favorite technique? Streamers, Streamers, Streamers… Maybe a Hopper Dropper
Favorite flies?
Freshwater:
- #1/0 Lunch Money’s – Colour does not really matter just ugly and white or a Kokanee variation.
- #1/0 Double Bunny’s
- #8 Chubby Chernobyl – Black or Tan
Favorite pattern to tie? Lunch Money’s or the Double Bunny’s. Both these patterns got me into tying and are relatively beginner friendly!
Favorite material and why? Rabbit Strips – They really make the Lunch Money’s and look super fishy in the water.
Prefer to fish alone or with friends? Always with friends!
Two things you wouldn’t go fishing without (aside from rod, reel, line, flies)
- Extra Layers (Rain Jacket)
- Good sized jug of water!
Most interesting (remote, distant, crowded, etc.) location you’ve fished. Calaway Park Fish Pond
Your destination/species wishlist:
- Redfish in Louisiana or Texas
- Arctic Char in Iceland
