Bow River drifters will be impacted with access closures for the next few days.
Yesterday we learned that Fish Creek Boat Launch will be closed on Monday, July 18 due to overhead construction of the bridge just below the launch site. Our understanding is this will impact anyone planning on floating from an upstream launch site and wanting to use Fish Creek as a takeout; anyone planning to launch at Fish Creek; and anyone planning to float through this section of the Bow. The Bow River Trout Foundation, the leaseholder of the privately-owned Policeman's Flats access, has done a good job of spreading the word about the two-day closure (July 19 and 20) of Policeman's. This closure is to allow BRTF to complete some restoration/cleanup work at the site which was damaged during high water this Spring. Signage about this closure has been posted at Glenmore and Fish Creek. Policeman's should be back in business by Thursday, July 21.
