Lamson Guru 9+ HD Reel This is a great reel. The drag system is very smooth and has a wide range of adjustment to achieve the specific drag the angler is looking for. Start up inertia is negligible. It has a good line retrieve speed and has just the right amount of click when the fish takes the fly. The full cage design of this HD reel does a great job of preventing running line from entering the cage on my Spey rod as well as managing the micro leader on my 11’ euro rod. The reel is too light to balance out a 13’ spey rod completely but would do well on a trout spey. |
SIMMS Solarflex UPF50 This is my favorite new Sun shirt. It fits snug enough to not flap in the wind and loose enough that is does not restrict my movement. The elastic in the hood is just tight enough to manage my cap in a strong wind and keeps the wind off my ears. Inside the cuffs are thumb holes to help keep my sleeves down as well as pinky straps to keep the sleeves across the back of my hand for sun protection. The material is very quick drying and UPF50 rated against sun exposure and what a Great color, Nice job on this one SIMMS!
TEXTREME 3/0 Standard Fl. Orange thread This is one bright thread! When you hit it with your UV light you are looking for your sunglasses it’s that bright. This thread has good breaking strength and is very consistent through out the spool. Great thread for hotspots on Nymphs
Tungsten Slotted 3.3mm Black Nickel Beads These beads are great for tying euro nymphs. They are manufactured with nice smooth edges so they don’t catch your thread. They are consistent in weight throughout the package and east to work with. Give them a try! |
CLIC readers These are a great streamside addition for anyone that needs a little help threading flies and tying them on. The readers have a split magnet design that separates at the bridge and hang around your neck when not in use. When you need them just pull the bridge apart and place them on your nose , even over sunglasses. When you are done pull the bridge apart and drop the glasses down, it’s as easy as that. They are available in a variety of strengths to suit most anglers.
